We Believe In The Pyramid of Learning
Our central nervous system is the foundation for all learning. So many behavioral approaches focus only on skill acquisition at the top of the pyramid without considering the whole child and their development. These higher level functions are highly dependent on our regulation and ability to process different motor and sensory inputs in our environment. We can become overly focused on end results and get frustrated when a child can’t attend or practice their target skill. If we don’t zoom out and look at the whole child, we miss key individual differences that are at the foundation of learning.

Sensory Processing
We specialize in helping children with sensory processing challenges. We assess how a child interprets and responds to sensory input, such as touch, sound, and movement, and create personalized therapy plans to improve their ability to process and integrate these sensations. Through sensory-based activities, home environment modifications, and caregiver education, we support children in developing the skills needed for daily tasks and self-regulation. We aim to help children engage in everyday activities with greater comfort, confidence, and independence within their home environment.
Executive Functioning
We focus on helping children strengthen their executive functioning skills, essential for planning, organization, time management, and self-regulation. We work with children to develop strategies that improve their ability to complete tasks, manage routines, and stay focused. By tailoring activities to each child's needs and incorporating practical tools, we help them build the skills to navigate daily life with greater independence and confidence. Additionally, we guide families on how to support and reinforce these skills at home. A strong focus is on emotional regulation and being able to identify emotions and appropriate coping techniques.
Visual Motor Skills
We help children develop and improve their visual-motor skills, which are crucial for handwriting, cutting, and drawing. We use targeted exercises and FUN activities to enhance the coordination between what a child sees and how they move their hands. By working directly in the home environment, we can create practical, real-life scenarios that help children apply these skills to their daily routines. We also collaborate with families to reinforce these skills and ensure progress continues between sessions.
Fine Motor Coordination
We focus on enhancing fine motor coordination, which is essential for tasks like buttoning, writing, and feeding. We work with children through engaging, hands-on activities that strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers, improving their dexterity and control. By tailoring these activities to their daily routines at home, we help children build the skills they need to perform everyday tasks more independently and confidently. We also guide families on how to support fine motor development in a fun and practical way.
Activities of Daily Living
We help children develop the skills needed to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, eating, and grooming. We tailor interventions to each child's unique needs, working directly in their home environment to teach practical techniques that promote independence. By focusing on real-life tasks, we empower children to gain confidence in their abilities, making daily routines smoother and more manageable. We also collaborate with families to ensure that progress continues beyond our sessions, creating a supportive environment for success. We can introduce adaptive equipment as needed, safe, and appropriate.
Gross Motor Skills
We work with children to develop and refine their gross motor skills, which are essential for activities like walking, jumping, and climbing. We use fun, movement-based exercises that strengthen the large muscle groups, improving balance, coordination, and overall body awareness. By practicing these skills in the home environment, we help children gain the confidence and physical ability they need to navigate their world safely and effectively. We also provide families with strategies to encourage active play and ongoing motor development.
Transition to Work Services
We support adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they transition from school to work. We focus on developing the skills they need for success in the workplace, such as time management, organization, communication, and task completion. By creating individualized strategies and practicing them in real-world scenarios, we help these young adults gain the confidence and competence required for employment. We also collaborate with families and educators to ensure a smooth and supportive transition, empowering each individual to reach their full potential in the next stage of life.
Primitive Reflexes
Primitive reflexes are automatic movement patterns that develop in infancy to help babies grow, move, and begin interacting with their environment. As the nervous system matures, these reflexes should naturally integrate, allowing for higher-level motor skills, emotional regulation, and learning to emerge. When reflexes remain active, they can interfere with coordination, attention, handwriting, reading, emotional control, and overall self-regulation. Through gentle movement-based activities and sensory integration strategies, we can help the brain and body work together to support reflex integration which will lay a stronger foundation for focus, confidence, and developmental progress.
